From the first bars of the first track, it's immediately obvious this is an absolute top quality mastering & pressing. Every note of every instrument and vocals is crystal clear, pretty much no noticeable surface noise, dynamics are sublime...it's an experience to listen to this masterpiece in this way.

Edited 5 months agoLovely pressing. And yet, in my listening experience, the CD sounds better, with slightly more punch and a touch more clarity/detail.

Edited one year agoThis is one of the best sounding records i have heard actually. Great separation and clarity. Crisp and dynamic. It sound good for me both on speakers and headphones. I already knew the album was good but was suprised by the sound quality.

Yet again an unbelievable Transmission pressing! Mine is completely flat while spinning, loud and clear sound quality with zero surface noise, a joyful listen from start to finish.

My pressing was flat, centered and QUIET! The mastering on this release is very dynamic with a low overall volume. Fine by me, it really lets the drama of the music ebb and flow. But I’ve generally found it is harder to combat surface noise when the overall mastering volume is low. This is NOT a problem on this record! Save for a few pops and crackles, it did not matter that I had my system cranked! Quite an accomplishment for a standard 140g pressing and it shows that this type of production CAN be accomplished without requiring 45RPM / 220g records at a reasonable price. Do yourself a favor and don’t sleep on buying this pressing while it’s available for normal prices!

It uses the same master as the 2016/17 Kscope pressings, which was the best version of this album.
Stampers looks identical on this, matches the Kscope pressing, it needed a quality reissue Kscope was increasing in value. -

Great pressing. Quiet and flat, but there are few places with distortion/surface noise on track one. Under-baked/over-backed maybe? Also poor QC. Scratches, scratches. Had to replace it. I agree with fellow reviewer tomwebb101. They managed to manufacture perfect thin records few decades ago. It is not a rocket science. How do they manage to mess up 180g pressing now?
