I always come back to this version. I love the gatefold, and I honestly prefer this older mix to the newly available ones. It’s more of a relaxed mix and gives a dreamier vibe. Plus it’s pressed at Pallas.

I’ve owned several copies throughout my life. This one I’m keeping.

This is definitely the pressing you want. I've tried several and this is the only vinyl one that sounds anywhere as good as the original CD issue.

Better than the original pressing if only because it's quieter. Both the OG press of Yoshimi and The Soft Bulletin on PIAS have a lot of surface noise. The only other difference is that the sleeve is slightly different from the original.

This is an outstanding vinyl pressing from Pallas in ; my copy is flat and dead quiet. I only wish the gatefold sleeve were even half as good. Mine came out of the shrink wrap with major corner bends, and the whole thing just feels too flimsy for such an otherwise release. Ah well, the recording is what matters, and to my ears it is presented flawlessly here.

It's worth noting that "Race For The Prize" and "Buggin'" are included in their original mixes, rather than the remixes that appeared on the CD. If, like me, you played your 1999 CD to death, you may experience a moment of shock when the drums don't quite kick in on "Buggin'". (I find myself siding with the corporate goons over at Warner Bros. on that one, but only because I love the sound of Steven's drums so much.)

This really is a fantastic version of this LP. It's one of my favorite records, and I've owned several versions over the years. This is, in my opinion, the one to have. It's a quiet and flat pressing that sounds great. Also, the version of Buggin' on this pressing sounds to be a different mix to me.
