Great sound. Everything sounds better with the new equipment acquired over the last 43 years. The recording and pressing holds up! I have most of all Pat Metheny’s releases.

As with most Pat Metheny records, incredible sounding. Just such a bargain for the prices they go for these days. ECM really knew how to put out some fantastic wax back in the day, and put attention to detail. No background noise, amazing soundstage, you name it. Charlie Haden's bass is particularly well recorded.

Edited 3 years agoIn my younger years, I managed to acquire every recording Pat has made, as a leader, sideman, soundtracks, bootlegs, etc. All this on cassette and CD, however.
Well this year, I began the task of building a Pat Metheny vinyl collection as well. I'm off to a decent start, and was thrilled to find this super clean copy of 80/81.
These guys really make some music, very improvisational, much creative communication, and a display of each musician's sheer talent.
Recording is outstanding, and the pressing is great.
