For what it’s worth, and this is along time ago, but I bought this pressing as a playable alternative to my original 1982 copy. Everything sounded fine except for the track “Violent World” which sounded terribly fuzzy, like it was pressed from a bad mp3 or something- and I don’t know if that’s even a thing that happens. So I sold it.

Edited 3 years agoIs this the original mix as found on the original 1982 pressings, or is it the truly awful 1988 mix thats on CD and the Ruby pressings with yellow labels?

Yes, the channels are switched around on this pressing. Also just put it on & it sounds like it's muffled? Maybe not the right word to describe it. Almost like there's something draped over the speakers... it's weird. & Definitely not good. I've been familiar with this record since I got into the Misfits in the early 90s & this is just an awful pressing.

This pressing sounds notably more muddy than the CD. I don't have any other vinyl pressings of WAU to compare against. If you're on the fence about picking this version up, I'd wait for the Earache remaster coming in late November. This is in contrast to the Earth AD and Static Age represses, which both sound slightly better than their CD counterparts, IMHO.

Edited 8 years agoMy dad went through like 3 of these before he found one that wasn't warped to the point of unplayability. Don't go for it unless you're desperate.
