Album will be reissued on 5th April as double brick red vinyl expanded deluxe edition (see announcement on Beggars Arkive website).
"...the audio is via analogue transfer to 96khz/24 bit by John Dent at Loud, with vinyl mastering by Geoff Pesche at Abbey Road..."

Edited one year agoReally needs you to turn up the volume way beyond where you'd usually play. It then sounds so much better than a low volume, at low volume it just sounds muddy.
QC wise this is very good, nothing major to point out here.
EDIT
Just re-listened to this with my new amp and cart. Its light and day, sounds so much better, and low volume issue is mostly gone. Seems like this may be very setup sensitive.

This release is very quiet but there is no life in the music. Totally flat. I would not recommend it
-
I can only add my voice to the chorus below: this is remastered at very low level and with the usual muddy Field's recording quality the result is poor sound overall. My pressing on visually lush forest green vinyl is quiet, but that can't redeem this low quality release.
-
Fields were always quietly recorded. But this repress is very low. I compared it with the original pressing (to whom I lost the sleeve, so the rebuy) and the old pressing is much louder - and cleaner.
-
Low volume. Had to ramp up the volume quite a bit. I like The álbum and as i have no other to compare it to i am happy with it. Still the low volume sucks a bit.
-
Beside nice vinyl colour - sound quality is not as good as it could be. A lot of bass, but not punchy. Not contour. Rumbling sound. In other aspects - you can easily hear a noise floor of the vinyl. Shame because this is beautiful music.
-
Visually stunning and a great album but the sound is too muddy for my liking - was hoping for a better mastering. Fair bit of crackle too.
-
Well sounds ten thousand times better than the CD version wich is not so hard... CD version sounds compressed as hell and extremely low, but side A of my vynil copy got a lot of noise even after cleaning up. Could not compere to previous versions but as a remastered version is not very impressive
