To echo the other reviewers, this is insanely awesome! Damn, nice depth and vibration to the snare balanced with punchy kick drum, perfectly separated as the synth effects move within the soundstage. My CD has become obsolete.
-
This LP sounds insanely good, with terrific clarity, fidelity & seperation. The soundstage is incredibly detailed, high, deep & wide, almost surround-sound in it's 3-D holography. Vinyl itself is dead-silent on my copy & as flat as Manitoba. It's LPs like this that make playing records on a good stereo soooooooooooooo worth it...

Edited one year agoDiscogs should make a new entry for the new repress floating around. Just picked one up today. As others have pointed out, the runouts differ from this 2019 entry and match the deadwax of the 20th anniversary boxset. Based on this information it was probably pressed up by GZ. Made in USA instead of on back of jacket.

Comparisons with a 2002 UK first press (red transulcent vinyl):
* Noise floor is quieter on this Pallas pressing, versus the slightly noiser Optimal pressing
* This sleeve is just a standard jacket, compared to a gatefold used for the UK pressing
* This version comes with a lyrics and artwork printed inner sleeve, whereas the UK pressing does not
* The contrast of the cover has been tweaked, so appears darker here than on the UK release
* Both versions have an amazing depth of sound, with excellent bass. The UK has perhaps a little more mid-range warmth, but the Bellman version has a slightly wider soundstage.
In short, if you have one or the other you have an amazing copy of the album and aren't really going to gain much by swapping.

I have a release from 2019 but made in USA not on the label and the runout information is different. Anyone else have this one?
-
This album sits somewhere in my top 5 albums of all time! And that says a lot since I have quite a diverse taste in music. Love it so much I had to get multiple versions of it.
-
I have the UK first press of this record and wondering if anyone can share how this version may compare to either US or UK OG pressings?

What a fantastic re-issue.
Although this is still my second favorite format of this album.
The 5.1 surroundsound DVD. It’s still my favorite, especially when my girlfriend Molly. Give me that big ol kiss! -
Did anyone buy this from 1234gorecords here on Discogs? It just seems very odd that they have 90 pieces in stock when it very rare everywhere else...

Edited 2 years agoAs many others have said this sounds incredible. Dynamics and soundstage are first rate. I can’t fault it. Bass is controlled and deep, drums kick hard and there is a huge 3d soundstage. Wish all records sounded this good. It helps of course that it is an amazing album that is not only surreal and weird but massively listenable and emotional. First clas all round.
