Another world class reissuing here, from the fabled and much revered Mr. Bongo's label. It is nice and clean sounding, with appropriately booming bass that has to be heard, to be believed, whilst also enjoyed with much relish. However, I have always felt somewhat perplexed and confused, by this song. Just what is it, that the Ultramagnetic MC's would like to give the drummer some of? Naturally, the original purveyor of "some" (James Brown) wanted to give the drummer some of the funky soul that he had, right here. But the Ultramagnetic MC's never specify what it is THEY want to give the drummer some of. My dream is that, one day Kool Keith, Ced Gee, TR Love, or Moe Love finally reveal in an interview, just what it was that they were offering to the drummer, and whether he actually accepted it or not. It would really help to set my mind at ease, and enable me to enjoy this song with renewed vigor!!
