Just picking up the general thread below re the Factory Sample example. I have a black sleeve, Thomas - both sides mis-credit, with Factory Sample not for sale sticker intact. Be interesting to see if Discogs could pick that up as a version alongside the Promo that's already listed on here.

Edited 2 years agoThis track was SO needed. At this time, with David 'Live and Young Americans; Bowie had strayed far from Rebel Rebel, Jean Genie, and Queen Bitch. Solo Beatles and The Stones were getting soft. My peers were listening to The Eagles, America and Poco. Ugh. In Portland we had an FM station that played new, emerging music late at night. The songs played this one evening were by Eddie and the Hot Rods, The Dammed, and an INCREDIBLE track by a new band called Sex Pistols with "Anarchy in the UK". We had a great import service, and I ordered the single the very next day. Of course, all hell broke loose with EMI and the yobs but THIS track was my salvation with machine gun guitar licks, pounding drums, and bass that said WE MEAN IT MAAAAN!
(still have it in the pristine EMI sleeve, misprint about Chris Thomas, and it makes me grin) -
I have an original black sleeve but the record has credits to Thomas and Goodman.
I understand initial copies of the 5,000 releases of this sleeve had credits to Thomas on both sides but does that mean that some of the black sleeve copies did also have Goodman on one side?
My record is from a very reputable dealer who tells me that there was some black sleeve copies that had Goodman on.
Can anyone confirm for me, I may want to sell it but don't want to be putting false info out? Neil -
My OG copy, too, comes in a EMI company sleeve with Chris Thomas credit on both sides, need an adjustment to the release

My copy comes in a EMI company sleeve with Chris Thomas credit on both sides, must have come in both versions.

My version is a promo not for resale etc etc. It has the Chris Thomas miscredit. I bought it off Malcolm in Sex or Seditionaries whatever it was then. Is this worth anymore than a non promo?
-
How common are factory samples and normal versions with the Chris Thomas miscredit? I'm seeing these appear often on eBay a lot recently? Are these possible fakes?

I have this version, with the Chris Thomas credited as producer of I Wanna Be Me, but in an EMI sleeve. What does that make it?

Brian Southall's (EMI executive at the time) ”Sex Pistols – 90 Days At EMI” states it was 2,000 copies in black cover.
