Edited 2 years agoMuch better pressing than the RSD rainbow vinyl edition, which suffers from extreme surface noise. Same plates used here, but way better vinyl compound. Excellent mastering and solid artwork.

Punches way above its price tag and it is a GZ Media pressing that doesn't sound like crap (there's a fair few of those, as we all know). Bass curve is quite polite on this LP, even my OG pressing and cassette copy... I just boost the bass control on my amp a wee bit and it's beautiful. Well worth the £20!

Edited 2 months agoTruly a great pressing for GZ. Plays flat and super quiet. While the Mofi is a tad more expansive and has a slightly brighter but cleaner and more revealing very top end, this is cut significantly louder and is much more fleshed out in the bottom and lower mids without any obvious audible compression nasties. Normally a big bottom is a Mofi trait! For £18 this is an absolute steal and arguably preferable over the Mofi at more than twice the price.

Fine pressing and fine sounding. Got one with same catalogue and barecode numbers but with a sticker on back that says "Made in Czech Republic"
When I start listen to side A , music´s sounds quite pitched for me, so I took the original pressing from 1989 and playing both records at same time on Technics SL 1200 MK II , the new repress it´s highly pitched +1 on my turntables. Locked both to zero pitch and repress goes faster. Anyway sounds good, maybe a little bit low volume .
This kind of albums with 5 tracks per side needs a good repress on 2 X LP !!!

Edited 3 years agoThis is the black vinyl version.
Wow, what an amazing pressing! I know this release well since it came out, and this is the best version I've heard. Title Track and Channel Z punches you in the gut with drums and bass. Very 3D soundstage. Vinyl is dead quiet. Highly recommended at $22 USD. And mastered by R. Ludwig, score. -
