Edited 4 years agoAfter Hours is Ablel Tesfaye's 4th studio album was something of a miracle if not a stroke of drug induced and dark melancholic brilliance. compared to the rest of Abels discography After Hours consists of 14 tracks all performed and sung by Abel, i find his presence with just Abels vocals shows that this is his record which makes for his most constant and engaging album to date.
Abel's Lyrics finds himself in which his own words say from the track Too Late "We're in hell, it's disguised as a paradise with flashing lights" As the song continues like it could be red as a twisted church confession. But beyond the hell bent scape that is sang about Abels vocals shine so bright through the context of its lyrics you have no choice but to tap your feet and bob your head.
Then the most noticeable being the track Blinding Lights as if the high off this record couldn't be heighten the speedometer is cranked to its limit as Abel reenergizes his track list which would usually be done with a feature in his previous records, but now we find Abel showing and sounding like a hopeful lost soul in which the character he portrays. Shortly after the halfway mark of the record a disco charged synth ran rhythm is established being the track "Save Your Tears" as Abel once again upstages himself for the 3rd time from his vocal performance on After Hours.
All in All, After Hours is an incredible feat and triumph for The Weeknd which will most defiantly win over listeners and fans which leaves After Hours as one of The Weeknds Classics.
