Edited 4 years agoSome very mixed reviews below regarding the sound quality of this 2019 reissue.
I've just received a copy, and gave it a listen.
The original mix has ultra defined mid & hi range. The vocals & percussion shine (perhaps a little too much, the vocal kinda distorts in the main chorus) and the kick is a little weak, but I don't have an original copy to compare to (the only other version of this track I own is on I Love Disco Diamonds Collection Vol. 20).
I imagine that if I was to play the original mix from this reissue in a club I'd need to boost the bass a little, but no more than the "One O'Clock" setting. At least in my home setup that is sufficient.
For the instrumental mix, see above.
Flemming Dalum's remix is indeed fantastic, but I don't know if I'd rate it above the original. It's a fresh sounding re-edit, respectfully done.
I don't really think much of the Also Playable Mono remix. It sounds like average Electro House from 2005. Not bad, just not memorable.
Personally I'd have preferred that ZYX had put the original mix at 45rpm on the A-side and Flemming's remix as B1 / the original instrumental as B2.
The Also Playable Mono remix can be found digitally, where it will probably get most plays anyway. -
Stunning and phenomenal remix by Flemming Dalum! I agree with garyvictor: the Flemming Dalum remix is better than the original! Unique release by ZYX Music.

The song quality on a lot of the new ZYX reissues has been awful. What's the point in pres these classics again if you can't play them in a club. Very frustrating!

This price is more lower than the first release. Can't wait for buying it. I like this maxi single very much.

I never got the original 1984 release of this Italo disco classic, but I have this lovely release on ZYX records in 2019! IMO I actually like the new Flemming Dalum remix better than the original, dare I say. If die hard collectors want to shell out hundreds of dollars$ for some old worn out copy in very good conditions, please go right ahead. I would rather spend 15.00 dollars for this new ZYX record. Its just as good or even better than the original pressings. (first).
