This is probably the best sounding pressing I've gotten of a Slipknot record to date (currently also have Vol. 3 on Orange and The End So Far neon yellow green disc) but unfortunately, even an immaculate pressing didn't change my mind about this album. It's not bad, but I don't see why this one is their most critically acclaimed work. It drones together for me, I easily get bored track by track and zone out entirely. There's very little here that actually engages me and I don't know why. The band isn't doing anything bad here, they're performing at their peak, and yet this gives me the same feeling All Hope is Gone did, an album that exists that is apparently by Slipknot but doesn't even in my consciousness unless I'm staring directly at proof it exists. It just don't click with me at all. I'd give the album a 3/5, maybe a 2 if I'm feeling like a dick, but again, there's nothing bad about the album, so I feel like a 2 is too harsh. 5/5 pressing though. No issues there, clean and clear. Punchy.
