Important Records has released this live document of Cluster recorded in 2007 in Berlin.
First off,I was hesitant to purchase this, but I needed to hear it,this release could have gone either way, cheese crap trash by a couple old guys trying to relive former glories,or an outstanding update of the Cluster output, and I am glad to report it is the latter.
The cd consists of two long possibly(probably)improvised pieces that do not resemble the latter Cluster of the discoish synthy pop stuff, but more like a cross between Cluster 71,or Cluster II crossed with the more ambient gloom of perhaps Coil.I urge you to rush out and get this if you are at all a fan of early Cluster. The pieces drift along in a sort of creepy droneish tempo that sometimes forms into a motorik rhythm which then disintegrates back into the creepy Throbbing Gristleish Coilish mode.
