Could be easy to complain about sound...unless you like this kind of sound and can recognise when every second and frequency of a track is absoultely right and perfectly designed to sound as it sounds. that b side´s high freqs that you couldnt say if its digital or just a cricket jumped into the microphone channel... So good.

It's a tremendous release from Wax.
Every track it's simple and clean with very, very deep bass lines.
Yes,it is Shed. -
Edited 9 years agoAnother excellent tune. Just the pitch change of the hat, on the A side, is like candy, to me.

It's hard to make a good simple tune. The person moaning about production quality probably doesn't like the drum track and I would reckon this is filtered on purpose to keep it deep; for me this only serves to bring the synths out more - niiice!

Edited 9 years agoTheres nothing cheap sounding about this production to me, from an engineers perspective, its a well mastered piece with everything sounding purposeful & well balanced. Its a sparse but rich mix with a shimmering snappy high end, the rumbling foggy lows don't do much on a domestic system but this does damage on its intended platform, i.e. a big clean system. As for being boring, hugely disagree. I think René knows exactly what he's doing.

Definitely an overrated series. The production is pleasingly raw, but the synth riffs / chords are just too simplistic to be memorable. Yeah I know, minimalism and all that, but when it's this simplistic it's just boring.
