Edited 3 months agoThis is a helluva of record including the best hard rock song ever written More than a feeling,no one else comes even close(Sorry about that).Every song is just great no let downs what so ever 10/10 all the way through.I hearing more on the radio back in the day but didn’t catch what it was(Finland back in 1976) but a friend had recorded it so problem solved.Ordered the record the day after this occured and rest is history, still sounds as good as back then.Yi haaa!.

Edited one year agoAlways trust a Wally Traugott mastered album. If you see the wly or wally in the runout, it's going to sound great. From this to the Beatles late 70s purple label Capitol reissues to the Beastie Boys. He always did great albums justice. You may think there is a better sounding pressing of this album out there, but you'll always end up back at your double Wally.

Edited 2 years agoTHIS is the very best pressing I had. Had quite a few releases US, UK, , Greek, but I let them go. My copy is VG+ but sounds amazing.

What is the very best pressing for this album? I have an original 1976 press in NM- and it sounds great but I want better sound!

Catchy songs, excellent quality recording. Brad Delp's vocal chops were astounding, Tom Scholz's writing, (home studio!) recording, production, and Hammond organ chops and lead guitar work are phenomenal... just listen to the dang thing, it's great all around! There are other versions that are half speed mastered or encoded with some noise reduction scheme, but every time I actually sit down and listen to the regular pressing it just doesn't seem necessary. It just plain sounds good, and mine isn't even a particularly good condition copy. Unless you've got something against upbeat, feel-good rock music, this is a record you should have.
Also... dangit Tom, why'd you have to go and do impossible tricks like pitch bending a Hammond? How am I supposed to play along to that? -
I bought this album when i was in high school when it first came out. I ran down to the music store on lunch break and purchased one of the last copies in stocks...I still have the original and have three more copies.
one is half speed mastered. I always find myself going back to play that album. Never get tired of it. -
