Giuliano Sorgini – Africa Oscura

I've owned this upon release and have never experienced any of these distortion issues others seem to be having. Surprised to read all these complaints, (Still seems to be appreciating in spite of that though).
I love this LP, but for those who are undecided consider that these are NOT high fidelity/ audiophile recordings .They did not initially receive the polish or mastering of a commercial release. So if you're gonna play this back to back with something of that ilk then a discrepancy in sound quality will probably seem more stark . And for those who are experiencing the problems perhaps try
re -calibrating your setups? Cartridge alignment, anti skate adjustment? It's worth it .

Really? It sounds distorted and crackly as if it's been mastered from a rough original. I managed to play the first four tracks, but that was all, I just couldn't stand it any longer. These vinyl reissues don't come cheap either and now mine is in my 'for sale' box, but I'll struggle to get anything for it.

It is very strange to hear these things.
I started following the amazing "four flies records" from the first release and I have never encountered any kind of problem. I think the editions are super accurate and attentive to details: internal sleeve, poster, vinyl of excellent quality.
if you hear a little noise on some records (my copy of Africa Oscura plays very good) .... well, they have been ed more than 50 years ago and often stored in cellars full of mold and humidity, they are not 2020 recordings!!
I would say that the recovery work is more than excellent.
Without this great work we would never have listened to so many masterpieces.
In any case: thanks a lot for your work!

This is a great album. Beautiful and special music. Unfortunately I have listened to 3 different copies of this release and they all had pressing issues / distorted sound most audible on tracks B2 and B3

Great reissue; but some minimal problems in pressing quality: tracks b3b4b5 have light noise on one channel.
