Edited 5 years agoThere can be no doubt that 'L' was Hillage's finest studio album and all of the highlights from that album are represented here in this live + studio collection. Back in the mid- to late-1970s Steve Hillage was pretty much the king of often speeded-up and discordant hippy noodling and we get lots of that here, but some of the stuff is sublime if you like his music. Highlights are "Lunar Musick Suite", "Hurdy Gurdy Man" and "It's All Too Much".
Side D is a side of 'new' studio material, including the Hillage-does-punk track "1988 Aktivator". There's some great stuff on this side, not least of which is the opener, "Talking to the Sun".
PS I've corrected track C1 to "Lunar Musick Suite" (with a K) as it should be but have no idea how to correct the Master Release, so if somebody else would like to do that I'd be much obliged.
