Notes
This release features the original album artwork (showing Robert Williams' painting of a girl being raped by robots), which was later withdrawn and replaced with a tattoo-styled, skulls-and-crossbones motif.
The UK catalogue number appears on the back cover and spine (unlike on Appetite For Destruction, where it appears only on the centre labels).
There is another very similar release which included a sheet of Japanese peel-off stickers (see Appetite For Destruction).
Issued in a regular cardboard sleeve embossed with the Warner 'W' logo. Some copies feature a white sticker with black text reading "CONTAINS LYRICS WHICH SOME PEOPLE MAY FIND OFFENSIVE". Some copies also feature a black sticker with red and white text reading "INCLUDES THE SINGLES SWEET CHILD O'MINE AND WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE".
Includes a printed inner-sleeve with lyrics, credits and photographs of the band . Some copies include a white Guns N Roses Appetite For Destruction sticker (924 148-1).
All runouts are stamped except the few characters at the end of the matrix strings, which are hand-etched.

Fidelity is outstanding, nice balance and strong midrange creates separation and deep soundstage. This is recorded on the quiet side so you need to crank the volume to bring the music to life. This is better than any remaster I’ve ever owned. See my profile for equipment specs.

Edited 4 months agoMy record is clear🤔🤔🤔 but it does have hand etched "Gun A" and the other side is etched "Gun B" is this something someone else has?? Or come across it? Edit* I found out that it is a European bootleg from around 2012. Mine is clear white though and isn't one of the colors shown

Iconic album. This first press with the banned cover is the one to own if you can find. Great dynamics, balanced pressing good bottom end.
-
For many years it was my favorite album of all time. I got it on vinyl today and heard a few more details than on cd or cassette on this edition.

Edited 2 years agoI Cherish My Original Copy Of Appetite For Destruction With The Banned Cover Art. Unbeatable Sound To My Ears, It Just Knocks And Rocks With Great Clarity And Bass, The Guitars Really Shred And Those Drums Really Pump Out The Speakers On My System. The Vinyl Mastering Of This For A Single LP Considering It Is A 54 Minute Album Is Astonishing. One Of The Best Produced, Mixed And Mastered Rock Albums Of All Time. Every Song Is Killer And Hooks You In And Doesn't Let Up Until It's Done And Even When It Is You Just Want To Go Back And Listen To It Again And Again.

Very nice sounding copy in my opinion. I also have a newer repress of this record. It is almost unplayable to my non audiophile ears. This one with the banned cover as a bonus sounds great to me!
