My copy sounds fantastic. Other than the very occasional pop, it just booooooms with Sade's sweet and smoky voice. Especially "Cherry Pie." Holy shit it makes my ears happy!

Edited one year agoMy copy with similar runout and label typesetting has no text on Label Side 1. Just the red Portrait logo FR and AL and "Portrait is a trademark of CBS inc" Side 2 looks exactly like one pictured in this release. Other difference is 1985 instead of 1984. Can't find a variant here quite like mine... Should I make a new listing? -
Edited one year agoGreat sounding on my system which is more neutral or on the slightly warm side. No sssssssibilance. Using a perfectly aligned ART9XI cartridge on a Technics SL-1200G. What some are hearing might be system dependent, maybe in some cases bright speakers or cartridge. -
WOW, I was going to buy the box set but did a little research and the first three records (Diamond Life, Promise, Stronger Than Pride) in first releases/pressings are much better sounding. So I found first pressings of all three from the Carrollton, GA in NM and I am so impressed by the sound. It is the best I have heard Sade and it sounds as good as any audiophile LPs I have. I would recommend these pressing as you can still find them at a great price and are a superior sound. -

Not having any sibilance issues on my copy. I find it a remarkably good sounding pressing. A great slice of the 80s that has aged quite gracefully. -
The album itself is amazing, one of the best of the 80s. This pressing however has unbearable sibilance.
