Mine weighs just under 200g, but does not say MPO in the runout. Barcode on sleeve (not sticker).
Below listing seems to fit the lack of MPO, but says 160g:

Mine has MPO WAP 144 A2 EURODISC etched, and WAP 144 B-3-1-1 printed on the other side. Weighs 160 grams. I'm kinda in between versions...

Edited one year agomy copy -which is an original one, not the repress- contains a postcard with small stickers. Is this a regular insert? (it's not a yellow card, killdacircle)

Edited 2 years agoThe last track on this is, I'm fairly sure, a Yazoo track slowed down. It's defo the work of Vince Clarke anyway. Anyone else getting that ? The title even aludes to this....

There aren't many "concept" records which have quite as dark roots as this. Essentially this is a collection of music inspired by the Branch Davidian cult whose base was near Waco. The cult are best known for a siege which took place in 1993 when a botched attempt by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms to execute a search warrant resulting in the death of four ATF officers, and six cult . 16 AFT officers were injured.
This incident resulted in a 51 day siege which made headlines around the world. On April 19th 1993, the FBI made attempts to end the standoff which resulted in a fire which killed 76 of the remaining 85 cult inside the compound.
In A Beautiful Place Out In The Country is a line taken from a Davidian promotional video advertising their community. Whilst Amo Bishop Roden was the name of the wife of the group's second in command.
I've always thought the knowledge of this gives the eerie music a deeper, more sinister context. -
Quite an unusual release for BOC, especially as in-between MHTRTC and Geogaddi. It relies much more on melodies and spheric synths. Still, 70ies nostalgia rules almost every track. Kid For Today is the track that sounds most BOC-like, ABDOITC with its vocoder voices reminds of Air. The real stand-out highlight, and - at least for me - one of the most emotional moving tracks I have ever heard is Amo Bishop Roden. This gives me the chills everytime I hear it and I was lucky enough to experience this in a club once - unforgettable! In my eternal Top 3.
