I'm confused by my copy of this pressing -- along with the stamped #s mine also has a "Miles Abbey Road. Rm 30" handwritten etching. Assuming that means it was Mastered by this guy -- Miles Showell at Abbey Road Studios, https://www.abbeyroad.com/engineer/miles-showell .
Anyone, else?
This pressing sounds INSANELY good in my opinion! The jacket feels tip-on, glossy cover image on a matte-like background. VERY nice.
Bought from a seller on Amazon.

Edited 2 months agoEdit: Since I wrote this review, I had the chance to get the 320 German pressing of this album.
Dynamic range is higher, richer bass tone, stronger drums kick, natural vocal sound and more lush guitar, piano and scratch disc sounds. The sound stage also seems to be wider. The difference is not evident immediately, but as I listened through the entire record, I was more immersed vs the newer reissues.
Get this 320 cut if you want to get a richer sonic experience.

This is a lo-fi production and expecting an audiophile experience would be misleading. I noticed, the record is cut at a relatively lower volume. 49 mins spread across 2 sides meaning ~ 25 mins each side. Ideally you would want 15-20 mins each side. Cutting at a lower volume allows to keep the music more dynamic.
Once you crank up the volume, the record comes to life. The original mix for each of the songs vary which gives the impression that the EQ of overall album is inconsistent but it is still an enjoyable front to back experience. The key is to crank up the volume.
I couldn’t tell a difference between Spotify vs the vinyl mastering if that matters to anyone. On both formats, it sounded a bit flat and not so wide. Again, this could be very much due to the production style.
Also excellent artwork reproduction. One of the best from my entire reissue collections. -
Great and flawless pressing! The gatefold is also nicely made with a gloss finish and the record comes in a polylined black sleeve.

Edited one year agoHello, my version got matrix/runout variant 6 on side A but different to all listed here on side B. I guess it's still this version i got ad side A is identical?
Side B is: 3794936-B 160402E2 1501680 RC (RC is etched) -
Is this really a gatefold? I bought the European pressing on a trip to Paris in 2018 but that wasn’t gatefold.

Edited 6 years agoVery nice release. Nice thick flat black-background vinyl; nice touches on the packaging w/ gloss varnish over the images. Sound wise I'd be curious to do an A/B comparison against the CD on mine (need a CD first). It all sounds great, some tracks sounding more great than others. Side B overall seems to sound better to me (much fuller bass), for whatever reason. Was a tad let down on Side A. Anyone else observe this?

Edited 6 years agoThis pressing sounds excellent to my ears. Deep bass tones and crisp highs. Lots of presence on all tracks. 5/5 for sound quality.
My copy was pressed on center, so there's no discernible wow. Unfortunately, there is some slight warping, but that hasn't affected playback. -
Can anyone told something about this pressing? How good is it? What better - 94 original UK or this?
