I accidentally “discovered” that I have this copy lying around (for all these years!). Drop the needle, WOW holy smokes its audio is at least on par with the Joshua Tree 30th Anniversary, maybe even better. Dark brown smoke vinyl is also cool to look at. So so happy!

Someone not as lazy as me should make a separate entry for the regular black and Quiex ll ('translucent') version. Even in this entry, it lists a deadwax variant. The 'Q' in that variant is a stamp, and it's for 'Quiex'. A hi-fi virgin vinyl blend occasionally d, but usually not, on some 80s pressings. Generally US MCA pressings, and less often Canadian MCA. But other labels used Quiex as well. Synchronicity was almost universally pressed on Quiex vinyl.

I just checked my copy of this release and the second record has the same "Side Three" label on both sides.
Anyone else got it like this? -
Edited 5 years agoIf you're after this on vinyl, seek out a translucent brown copy - a truly excellent quality pressing that's very quiet even in mere VG shape, 100% lives up to the audiophile promise. Cinram did well on this one, I say - likewise the labels who chose to have them use this special virgin vinyl formulation on certain releases.
