sleeve and plays at 33RPM.
Track intros with female spoken dialogue "Introducing Footlights Parade..." etc.
The labels don't mention 'Chu Teh Music (BMI)' as on the remixes.
Uncredited credit roles appear on picture sleeve release Time Zone - The Wildstyle but not on this release.
There is also 2nd version with same cat#: CEL 165 and almost identical label.
Though uncredited, that is remixed by François Kevorkian

It's only in the last ten years or so, after only knowing the much more well known remix, that I ended up finding a copy of this. I can't speak to how well it was received upon original release but I'll just say that the Kevorkian remix is the one everyone knows for a reason. I'm not saying it's bad as much as saying that the remix pushes the core elements of the original that worked, and cutting the stuff that doesn't, into a much more cohesive track that works inordinately better to the point of making the original version sound like a demo in comparison.
If you are not familiar I would still suggest picking it up as it's worth a listen for sure, but don't expect it to be more than one for the collection, used as extra flavor if you're playing the remix, or a good example of how the right mix/arrangement of a track can make all the difference.
In a way it reminds me of the story of making The Show by Doug E Fresh, and how initially it is told that it was a hodge podge of elements that coalesced into its final form that is well known and loved to this day in what might have been a similar way - of which I'd love to hear that original version in a similar way that I recommend all those who love this track check this version out if they haven't already.
Though I'd be interested to know if anyone rates this version higher than the remix and why. -
This song is awesome! "DOS LE FUNK!" Early Electro / Breakdance cut...Essential! I like to play the dub version when the female vocal starts to explain everything! In addition, I have been a Radio / Nightclub and Mobile DJ for 34 years... And, I always work these fine classics into my mix! Otherwise, The younger dancers' will never get to hear these exquisite tracks! GROOVE CONTROL, DJ PSYCHO AL -
The orgional recordings were made in By Rusty Egan , the footlights and all the other stuff were from recordings from movies till we had the right rapper....
