Love this pressing, sound quality is terrific. Never had any issue with surface noise on either disk. My only gripe is I seriously wish they hadn't included 'Aknot! Wot?' - it was a kinda fun original remix back in 97, but it really hasn't aged well and feels like a cheap and ugly track to close the album on.
-
mine isn't that lucky. LOTS of surface noise on side 2. Fortunately i paid only regular retail, not rape prices from discogs sellers. is it only the repress release that sucks?

Edited 7 years agoAfter being disappointed with my [edit: initial] LP copy of Leon: The Professional via Waxwork, I was concerned about Mondo's pressing of Eric Serra's following soundtrack. Thankfully, it's the polar opposite. It's quiet as it has to be, with rare exception of clicks presented in a few tracks. I'm satisfied with my copy of The Fifth Element, which while not my favorite of Serra's scores, it's a release that's for keeps. I do wish the outer sleeves weren't a tad tight to take the LPs out, but that's my only gripe.

Do we know how many were pressed? Though it's marked here as "Limited" it was not marked that way on the Mondo website when it was sold. But, they did sell out and what they had is what they had so I guess in that sense it was limited.

As GarionOrb already said: Very nice pressing. This is almost a miracle - given the experimental coloration and pressing plant (GZ). Awesome packaging and artwork as well. Mondo did everything right.
-
Truly GORGEOUS pressing! Fantastic new artwork throughout, and a beautiful white and orange record as well. Sound quality is crystal clear and super quiet...only the mesmerizing music comes through. A benchmark release!
