Bob Dylan – Triplicate

Phenomenal pressing! Just finished spinning all three LPs and they sound amazing with excellent dynamics (the acoustic instruments sound stellar with Garnier's bass sounding extra sweet with the bow). Dylan sings with a wisdom and perspective that only comes with age and these timeless songs are all the better for his weathered and personal interpretations. He truly breathes new life into these nearly forgotten songs from the American Songbook that sadly are beginning to disappear.

One of the things that drew me to this collection (and all of Dylan's American Songbook trilogy albums) is just how on-point his band is; they are incredibly tight and the music transports you back to some nameless, timeless age of America fast slipping away. Dylan's crooning is a perfect match for his band and you'll be hard-pressed to find such a quality collection of so many tracks. I think once Dylan is gone there will be a reckoning for this series and it will get the due it deserves. Meanwhile, fans who can just sit back and let Mr. Zimmerman take them disappearing through the smoke rings of their mind will be in for a treat.

EXEMPLARY pressing. SUPER flat, SUPER quiet, very impressed with the packaging/product. And found it at B&N w/50% off sticker on it, which prompted the purchase. Have Shadows In The Night and Fallen Angels too...still, takes some getting used to the "croaker crooning" lol...but in time will probably come to really appreciate the nuances of his interpretations...
