Absolute crap packaging. How hard would it be to slip the record into a Mofi/AP like inner cover instead of the cardboard cover that is almost impossible to remove the disc without scuffing.
It’s Bullshit and I won’t be buying another vinyl of The Cure.

Quite a good pressing, it sounds just as dark as you want it to be, minor distortion in some tracks but barely noticible, infact it might just need a better clean. For the price, good one.

Edited one year agoSame as others, my copy was dirty like if it came from a flea market, surprisingly the sound was great even without cleaning. I guess it fits the album atmosphere.
Vouncher for the digital version only give some 320 kbps MP3, so, meh. -
Edited one year agoYeah there was some dust on mine too, but i dont give much shit. There exists this essential accessory that is called a brush and it works wonders.
The record does not sound amazing or anything, but good enough for me. Way better than my old original copy that was pretty worn out, also a bit more intriguing than the digital versions -
Possibly the dirtiest record I have ever pulled out of sealed copy, with some liquid splatters on both sides as well as a few scuff marks. Given a good clean and it plays OK.

Edited 8 months agoThis record comes from such a dark, bleak and melancholic place, does not conjure up happy images (would not play this at a birthday party or a wedding), but absolutely loved it from first listen in the early eighties. Music can be a fantastic device for expressing almost every emotion, I don't always want happy, uplifting, smiley, sometimes life can be a twat, that's when I want to find some solitude and listen to this. Lost my original twenty/thirty/whenever years ago, but the re-mixing and pressing of this record is superb in every way, a perfect replacement.

Copy sounds fantastic just needing a good clean on first play. Mistake with labels on record, both labels are side one! Very much their darkest record and its not even close. Makes Bloodflowers sound cheery in comparison..
Love it. -
Edited 3 years agoSounds good, can't say anything bothered me during listening. Obviously you can't expect it to sound absolutely top shelf as there's over 20minutes per side, though I don't think this was ever a particularly hi-fi album in the first place.
Printed inner sleeves strike again, though. My record was absolutely CAKED in paper shards when it arrived, but nothing a good clean couldn't fix. Nice crisp print on the outer sleeve so it will look good on display.
No card included with mine, but that's never bothered me. If you can't figure out how to acquire an album from a band this popular, I don't know what you're doing on the internet.
Worth getting given the reasonable prices. -
Just got a copy of this, here's my variant (6):
Matrix / Runout (Side A runout, stamped, variant 6): 4787547-A 98317E1/L
Matrix / Runout (Side B runout, stamped, variant 6): 4787547-B 98317E2/I
also, no card.
