This is the first US CD issue of DN.
Originally came in a printed cardboard longbox. -
Edited one month agoI was a huge fan from Bad Moon on, and when I saw them on the Sister tour with the Ramones covers encore, I thought they had peaked. I bought Daydream the week it came out, and I being disappointed--while I liked some of the tracks, "Providence" was the only concession to their earlier combination of experimentation and humor. I saw them at least twice in '88 on the tour for this release, and I came away thinking that both shows were just too samey and by-the-book compared to the outstanding shows I had seen from them earlier. However, over time I found that Daydream really grew on me, and I began to see it as vying with Sister for their finest moment. While I ultimately found the songs with Kim's and Lee's vocals to be the real standout tracks, I look at Daydream these days as a release that has real staying power, and it casts a spell in its totality that is greater than the sum of its parts. Goo, by contrast, was an over-recorded and inconsistent misfire, and Dirty seemed to me to be their last great statement. I mostly gave up on them after that, and I still think that every release from Washing Machine to Rather Ripped was an unfocused collection of mediocre-at-best attempts to recapture the past. And then, when few were paying attention, they came up with The Eternal, which turned out to have been their absolute best piece of work since Dirty, and maybe since Daydream. Sad, as it turns out to have been their last.

Far more dynamic than the remastered version. Word word word -

There Seems To be alot of confusion on the UK LP issue of Daydream Nation.
Just my Observations & opinion obvs but, Very Simply;
"First Issue" was with plain white, polylined inners with poster - Also the sleeve had a gloss finish.
A later press, which at a guess surfaced to tie in with the UK Tour of March, 1989 is the one with the 2 Printed inner sleeves & Came with NO poster, also a Matt finish sleeve
Any copies of the latter with a poster have been "Frankensteined" IMHO
The Printed inners are scarce of course -

Play this loud - one of the clearest records I own which fits this album incredibly well. Perfect pressing to my ears and a legendary album.
