Compared to the 2015 reissue, this one slightly beats it in quality, clarity, and overall sound. Losing My Edge on both sound a bit equal in quality. However, Beat Connection is where the original really shines. Plays loud and clear and bumping nicely. Both are great pressings but I prefer the sound of this original. LCD Soundsystem kicks ass either way. -
Edited 4 years agoThe new re-issue is cut loud and sounds amazing. I am super happy with my direct purchase from DFA records.

So this is a version without the extended 'disco' version ? -
my copy does not say "repress" OR have a /100 numbering on it. which version is it? this, or http://discogs.cinepelis.org/LCD-Soundsystem-Losing-My-Edge-Beat-Connection/release/3490059

Due to a mastering issue--probably loud and phased (stereo) bass which will make the needle jump out of the groove--'Losing My Edge' skips on every original copy (10+) i've ever laid hands upon. Doesn't matter who you buy this from, the original master is going to skip. -

LCD Soundsystem once again pleases me with this positively-charged release. "Beat Connection" drew me to searching far and wide for this song, which has everything I love in this style of electro: rock sensibilities, tribal rhythms, playful vocals, and an upbeat tempo. -

oh yes,
i'll shamelessly rock both sides in one night: at a party, art opening, between punk bands, or at a dance club.
Both of these tracks rule and the sound quality is amazing. Anytime sombody tries to deride so called "electroclash" i point to this record -> so punk, so disco, so good! i should buy another copy cause i'm gonna wear this one to the ground.
