Without question among the best-sounding albums in my 750-piece collection of Jazz. Flat, no disturbances and mastered as well as a record can be. I will miss VMP's audiophile-quality releases.

Very happy with my copy of BROWN SUGAR. This my first Vinyl Me, Please release. The packaging is commendable, and the vinyl sounds wonderful, with none of the issues on B1 that others have mentioned. My copy plays like new, flat and quiet, nice and clean, with no surface noise of note.

Yep, my side B track 1 has some low soft clicking. However overall I’m very happy with the recording
-
I loved this record though side 2 plays like a used vg+ well taken care of record :/ Side 1 is flawless

Brilliant recording (imo), lovely packaging (but please make the outers looser!). Decent pressing. GZ media so you never know but no groove defects here just some scuffing and needing to clean. Worth the £40 i paid in the UK 👍

My copy is really nice. Flat, quiet, dynamic. I’ve received a decent amount of not-so-great VMP records lately, but this one is great. I’ll buy anything with Joe Henderson - happy to add this one. Very fun.

Very disappointed. Heaps of noise that pretty much ruins B1, which is a super quiet ballad. VMP, please get back to using RTI. So disappointing, because the mastering is beautiful.

Edited 2 years agoAs others have commented, some noise on B1, along with one big pop. Overall, a very quiet pressing. I was surprised how much I enjoyed this. I agree with other reviewers that Joe Henderson is the reason why. Vivid recorded sound, instruments clearly imaged on a medium soundstage that is not constricted but it also not as wide as it could be. In particular, Henderson and Roach sound like they are right on top of each other. Musically, the percussion is nothing special. In all other aspects, it exceeds expectations. Just wait until you hear Henderson's exquisite playing on the last track! Wow!

First copy was dish warped but VMP promptly sent a replacement and it’s perfect. It’s dead flat with no defects. Side 2 is sexy as hell. I’m loving this record.
