Hi
Anyone knows what is the correct (company) sleeve for this? Is it same as for UK. Prettiest Star ? (Mustard Mercury) -

I much prefer the earlier, bolan guitar version of the song, its one of my favourite tracks ever recorded.
I dislike the Aladdin sane version in comparison over produced and loses all the charm of the original.
Does any one know of any completion LP's with the earlier version? -

Yes but IMHO it's not as good a version as when Bowie redid it on 'Aladdin Sane'. Rumour has it that such was the rivalry at that time between Bolan and Bowie that the former deliberately under-cooked the guitar solo so as to sabotage the record. -
This is a Norwegian issue for whole Scandinavia, not Swedish -

It's true: Marc Bolan is the lead guitarist on this early version of "The Prettiest Star". Nicholas Pegg confirms this in "The Complete David Bowie" (2004). -
This is an entirely different version dating from 1970. He later re-worked it for "Aladdin Sane" in 1973. I was just checking for info on here as I heard it for the very first time tonight. It's supposed to have Marc Bolan playing on it but I haven't been able to confirm that yet. It's on youtube, under "David Bowie & Marc Bolan", check it out.

The single has a large centre, the Aladdin sane picture must be underneath, otherwise this single wouldn't have a centre at all if you look closely. Silly to photograph it on top of anything I agree
