On Spotify there are 2 versions. One is called "Spacer Woman - Vocal" and is 7:29. This is most likely the original version/master. The other one is (ironically) called "Spacer Woman - Original Version" and is 7:22. They appear identical in structure apart from that the intro synth is a few seconds longer on the former.
The first one (7:29) sounds fantastic, specifically the drums. The snare is really snappy and paired with the bass drum it gives great a great volume to the room. On what appears to be the re-mastered version (7:22), the drums sound all jumbled up. Somebody did a really poor job of understanding the strengths of the quirky sounding drums and wanted it sound more like new house/techno. Such a shame.
Does someone own both versions and can confirm this distinction? Or do you have other views on how it's sounding on vinyl? -

A little hint ...
Does someone notice where NALIN & KANE took instrumental theme for their "talkin' about" tune :)

Mine sounds surprisingly good. I thought it was an original until I looked it up on here. For 20.00 bucks it's an excellent pressing. I spin a lot of 12" dance singles and this holds up with other first pressings of other dance singles even though it's a repress. It's pressed flat. Plays quiet and the engineering is professional.

Hello! This track is from 1983!! And yes, the bassline is out on the milky way, the synths are raw, it rattles, it is quirky and funky, very funky! This is what makes this classic so good and special. Love the vocal!! -

I see all those reviews about the pressing quality and almost nothing about the song. The song is labeled Italo Disco, but for me it's on the extreme edges, still within the genre. It's also Electro Disco, but even then you can't say it's typical Electro in its time. Space Disco? Yes, that's completely acceptable for a 1983 song. But should we worry about labels? Certainly Spacer Woman stands out on her own. Take a step toward Italo and "Take a Chance" from Mr. Flagio comes to mind. Spacer Woman is a rare hard synth non-HI-NRG song that can connect with some imagination to UR's Final Frontier which is Electro and hails from the Techno scene. That particular song that came out 9 years later stands out in the same way that Spacer Woman stands out. I think it's no wonder that both remain so sought after. -
Not finding any issues with this pressing so far. I would agree with ab7f, not superb or anything but would definitely play out

Valentino Kanzyani's remix ending part contains a sample from Iury Lech - Barreras -
This sounds great, although don’t have original to compare to. I personally like it better than the disconet vol 5 program 11 pressing and that one even sounds good. This is one of those songs you the first time you heard it. Jam

Real good Remixes!!! Side A with a superb epic end and my favourite, Side B - detroit touched, sounds like https://discogs.cinepelis.org/artist/1220-Dopplereffekt doing that!

Edited 4 years agoThere are no errors like some people did mention. This release stands so near to the original. It is a little bit on a harsh side,Nothing serious,I wrote about that few years ago and now listening to it again I do not hear any issue, not any single issue. This one is better than the so called original remastered reissue https://discogs.cinepelis.org/Charlie-Spacer-Woman/release/11193359 ...that one sounded really bad and it was remastered,so called remastered record.Shame,shame.
Dark Entries is cool to have.
