Captain Beyond – Sufficiently Breathless

Great album, worth listening to! Really underrated band, their first album is great too!

A good record with some interesting turns. For me, it's not as compelling as the first record, but few things are. It seems like Caldwell and co. picked up a bit of the Southern Rock vibe from the their label/labelmates here. There's a lot of mid - tempo acoustic strumming and an implicit good time boogie feel on some tracks. Worth a listen, even worth keeping.

Fantastic pressing and gatefold cover design! The images on this gatefold are bizarre and fantastical at the same time. Love it!

I´m struggling with this one. I have a copy myself, but the tracklist doesnt mach. My copy has "Bright blue tango" as first track.
It dates 1985. on the runout it says time 712 B.

Once upon a time, I was told that colored vinyl and picture discs had a reduction in sound quality. So far, I've added four colored discs and two picture discs to my collection and they all sounded terrific. This release of Sufficiently Breathless is no exception. Pristine, crystal clear reproduction of an album that I haven't heard since I was a kid. Kudos to Purple Pyramid! I look forward to checking out more of their stuff.

Excellent mastering with original sounding mix. Best production of this record on CD. IMHO

Most who own this album are unaware that the cover art is in fact 3-D but you need the blue/red glasses and I don't think they put any in with the records.
