I know Metropolis is the hit / single from his library. Mother Earth has a more a Jazzy / laid back feel to it. It's an amazing B side gem of a tune!

First heard this on the Drive By show on Kool FM and it blew my mind. Big up Tonic & Remadee. ❤️

I'll stick my neck out - Metropolis never really did it for me. It smashed up dancefloors though.

The Thing is.. never in my wildest dreams would I have thought - in 1996 anyway - that a tune with such shy (dare I say thin) beats would make me rock, feel, goose-bumped the way Metropolis does. The bass and arrangement are just too good.

Just listening to this single again after a few years. Man... Mother Earth is really good. I liked it back in the day, but the A side Metropolis obviously outshined the B side.
Mother Earth is sounding very nice still in 2020... and I wonder if a remix is due? Too bad, as I think Marcus Intalex could have done amazing things with this track. RIP.

Essential three minute long intro sets the scene

                Nuff said.

'Metropolis' was released in August 96. The track was one of the biggest cuts responsible for darking out 96/97. 'Metropolis' stunned the Drum n Bass world, becoming an anthem at the Metalheadz Sunday sessions at the Blue Note and was the labels biggest seller.

"When I gave it to Goldie he was like 'What's going on?' He kept going round to people, playing them the DAT and saying 'You'll never gonna guess who this is' and most people were guessing, everyone but me. I think it was a shock to people.

'Metropolis' was 96's most predatory track "Lorna Harris who sung for Goldie described the bassline as this thing that's chasing you (The B-Line noises). It's very into the Future .

'Metropolis' went on to win the 1996/97 Muzik Award for best Drum n Bass tune.

Was not going to comment on this, as most people should know what this tune brought to the table. It's one of those defining moment tracks, when I first heard it I just listened it. It was fresh then and still is now! Total game changer, producers had to step after Adam released this... an absolute masterpiece if I say so myself.

"What can we say about 'Metropolis' that hasn’t been said already? Adam F delivered a piece of sonic art for the label, a visceral, complex anthem that stopped people in their tracks on its initial airings at Blue Note, backed with the sublime 'Mother Earth' this made for a massive release."

This tune makes me feel sad, can't help hearing Hyper D over this.
