Shocked to see some people here aren’t experiencing the surface noise, especially going over the gold section. I’ve since completed the studio discography on vinyl(aside from Undermind) and most the other albums sound great. I use the Ortofon 2M Blue, an external preamp, and solid speakers, you really can’t miss the noise, are you guys SURE your pressings don’t have surface noise??? I’ve tried 4-5 different copies and it’s exactly the same across the board. Love this album though, and will gladly deal with the noise for “Anything But Me” and all the other ballads on the release. (Aside from Mexican Cousin) -

I have pressing #00007. Lowest # in my collection. I almost didn't open it. When I did, it was wet washed on my VPI cleaner. The first listen was plagued with surface noise and quite a few pops. I was disappointed and decided to wash a little more aggressively. Same results -

As with all Phish vinyl lps Round Room is crisp yet warm and dynamic! So much noise coming from four guys it's incredible and I haven't even finished Pebbles and Marbles! -

I’m not experiencing the whoosh sound that’s being mentioned here. Sound is warm and represents the mood of the album well. The paper sleeves are ridiculous for the price but otherwise a beautiful release. -

I'm listening to my copy for the 10th time or so, and there are zero issues. It sounds great and there is no difference between the red/gold parts. It's not like my setup is amazing (Fluance RT85, replaced with Ortofon silver stylus, Fluance bookshelf speakers), but this album sounds just as good as all the other recent Phish vinyl releases. -

Wet cleaned upon opening and replaced the inner sleeves with MoFi sleeves; my copy sounds terrific! -

Awful pressing. Constant surface noise. Two pops every rotation as the needle goes over the red wax onto the gold and back again. Had to do a full stereo system check because I thought maybe a stylus was broken or a speaker on the fritz. Very disappointed.
