A ruthless and savage techno track that pushed the boundaries and broke the rules. It was created by an all star cast of the day and blew my mind when I first heard it. I made sure I owned a copy ASAP and still love this to the day. B side, also excellent.

I come from an industrial/atonal/noise background, and this massive beast that is "Vortex" can easily compete with the raw experimental electronic classics like Tribal Warning Shot, Slogun, My Cock's on Fire etc.
Does anyone know if Hawtins-Beltram-Mundo ever performed this live? It certainly would have made Underground Resistance sound like Erasure...

This Vortex is of your own making? Approach and Identify! RIP Diego Armando Maradona and RIP Armando .... And to all those alive and well! Keep creating chaos... Salute!

My mind is little rusty these days but I recall a night at Top Cats in High Wycombe and Easy Groove played Vortex..... And then he mixed into hardcore rave....incredible ;)

I cannot better the previous reviews so instead, I have a question. Is the main synth making all the crazy arsed noises in this awesome track the seminal Roland SH-101 or am I going mad? At times it sounds like something else.... Come on nerds, help me out. :o)

Been going through all my old records recently and was pleasantly surprised when I got this one out. Synergy 1 is a quality bit of acid :) You could still rock any decent party these days with this one. Top notch. But then again you couldn't really expect anything less from these three chaps.

One of the best acid/hoover tracks, combining the party genius of Mundo Muzique, Beltram and Hawtin in FUSE mode. Mix it in with a slow builder right and it will drive people insane. What's great is also the techno-overlord voice decreeing "Vortex!" here and there -- which sounds like either "I want sex" or "phone sex".

Another important release for the history of techno. This record was more frenzied and wild than much of the techno that had come before, with a slow but steady increase in intensity as the track progesses. It is an early record in the career of both Richie Hawtin and Joey Beltram, and is also notable in that its structure has snare drums between the kicks and not on every second beat as was almost always the case at the time.
