Low – Christmas

My brand new copy sounds rather distorted in the bass frequency of the guitar strumming. Actually everything in that spectrum, especially the organ, is distorted in a seemingly not intended way. Also plenty of pops and clicks.

I'm OK with Velvet Underground-ish white noise, but this just sounds bad. Is it supposed to sound like this or did I get a bad copy?

No question about it, putting this one on the turntable and dropping the needle down is going to be extra poignant this year, and probably for many years to come.

Interestingly, I have this gold UK press but the barcode doesn't match the one for this entry, but the earlier white pressing (09878709061)

Outstanding pressing. Great sounding master and virtually no surface noise or other imperfections. Highly recommended.

This is a very understated Christmas albums with a beauty to it. One of the best Christmas albums of the last 20 years.

For some this might be a bit dowdy for a Christmas record, personally I think its beautiful. As far as the pressing goes, after the comforting sound of the needle dropping on the record I don't think I heard a single pop or click. Lovely and warm and blown away by the lack of surface noise.

Buy some pigs in blankets, light some candles and just lay yourself on the sofa in silence with this. And yes, do it again and again for years to come.

This is mandatory Christmas listening. Nice sounding reissue that is guaranteed a spin at least once a year.

Absolutely love this - a real alternative to the usual Christmas musical cheese - it comes out every year, wouldn't be Christmas without it!
