Talking Heads – Little Creatures

I haven’t listened to the entire record, but for a new $15 Talking Heads record that so far sounds punchy, clean and well normalized, I’m jumping on the positive train and giving this one its due. No need to discuss the songs, we are all aware.

Found a pressing of this in the states and it's the only copy of this album I have on vinyl so can't say this comparingly but it sounds very good! My copy is very quiet but the seperation and range is very good. Vocals are clear and out front. Overall very happy to have this seeing that it was found in a small town in the states.

Anyone knew if this and the other Sterling JNH Talking Heads reissues are all-analog or cut from hi-res digital? Since it's Rhino and the albums with the older all-analog Bellman/Gray cuts aren't labeled as such, plus Joe Nino-Hernes cuts from both tape and digital (and has gotten great results with digital in the past), I figure both are entirely possible. But I'd like to know for sure either way.

But yes, either way, this is a great-sounding pressing, and a pretty clean one from Precision despite their reputation.

Mix of pretty pop songs & slightly sombre constrained adult-sophisticated tunes that are more roots rock & folky pop w/ the generic funk replaced by a more jangly concoction of art pop, multi-vocal harmonies folksy Americana guitars dancey percussion & actual melodies that display charm variety & a cocktail of creative juices backed by lusher production & occasional use of session musicians. The album proves that the band’s mainstream aspirations can inhibit a gentler posture without going soft while maintaining their offbeat sensibility memorable choruses quirky pop antics & artistic ambition.
A treasure trove of material on this catchy fun accessible pop album.

Great pressing, despite the Precision Record Pressing warning! Fantastic, dynamic sound and little to no crackles for this pressing plant. Good stuff!

I don't know if this is the best, but there's something to be said about the quality of the OG. This is outstanding in every way particularly the performance and songs. Last great Talking Heads album following a string of amazing albums.

In reference to a M7S9 variant. An excellent digital transfer of this mid-80's collection of anthemic observations.

A snappy, tight, oft dense and occasionally near shrill transfer.

If you come across this czechoslovakian pressing don't even hesitate and buy it. The guys at supraphon did a great job!
