Notes

Titled after french poet Luis Alberto Spinetta's second solo effort, but ended up being credited to Pescado Rabioso.
The original LP is notorious for its amorphous sleeve, an irregular octagon, which made it hard to keep in regular shelves and forced several retailers to cut off its edges or simply refuse to stock it. Most of the later editions used regular sleeves picturing the original shape on a white background, or simply presented the colors in regular shape.

Best sounding pressing of all Artaud releases. Super audio quality!

To me, this is the best pressing of the album. I have heard the 1973 original, the 1975 reissue, the 2017 Argentine reissue, and this version.
-1973 original: Wide soundstage, very detailed and dense midrange, loud and deep bass with extreme dynamic peaks in the vocals and guitar. As a result the vast majority (maybe all) of copies now have groove wear distortion at these peaks (particularly tracks A1 and A4) as most local equipment of the time could not handle this.
-1975 reissue: Soundstage is about 20% more compressed. Midrange and dynamics sounds equal to the original. Much quieter bass response (to me, too quiet). Suffers the same groove wear problem as the 1973. Still a very enjoyable pressing if you can find a pristine copy.
-2017 Argentina reissue: Sounds mostly identical to the digital remaster from the same year. Mix is most similar to the 1975, perhaps with a bit more bass and high end restored. Detail is good but not too realistic with a much flatter soundstage than the original.
-2016 Chile reissue: Detail is astounding. Feels more “in the studio”. Mastering sounds a bit different from anything before with vocals and guitars being set further back, resulting in dynamic peaks being smoother and less piercing. The deep bass from the original is 90% restored here. Midrange sounds slightly scooped—again, probably to aid in taming the dynamic peaks. I think this suits the feel of the album better than the original’s “wall of sound” midrange. Everything has been improved upon in a way that feels natural and analog. Only downside is that this was pressed at GZ, so expect a few small scuffs from mishandling. However, this pressing sounds so good that the occasional minor surface noise is not a problem for me.

This is a surprisingly good sounding pressing. Guitar and voices sound bright and fresh. Unlike their previous album (Pescado 2) which is muddy and compressed.
