Considered by some as one of their worst, if not the worst albums.
Production is harsh, shrill, and cluttered.
Songs are almost tuneless, most feel like jams worked out in the studio rather than actual compositions.
The only one with any quality is one they didn't write.
Harlem Shuffle has a groove and a sway that is missing from all others on this LP.
The rest are strident attempts at sounding "hard," except for "Too Rude," another cover, which sounds like the Stones covering The Clash covering some old reggae tune, and Keith's lazy attempt at balladry, "Sleep Tonight."
        Only for completists and masochists.

This is probable a digital recording and mastering, and it sounds as a CD on the vinyl, but good one. This has been mastered by Bob Ludwig and sounds fresh and very punchy.

Very surprised with that album! The sound is pure 80s and sticks out!

Gave this one 5 stars for sound quality though the musical content varies, the Keith tune is one of his most beautiful ballads and mastering and pressing are A1!!

Very underrated album, in my humble opinion. No it’s not Sticky Fingers and it does have a couple of clunkers but there’s still plenty of great stuff to be found here. I’d take Dirty Work over pretty much everything the Stones have released since.

The images are of a wrong pressing since it states that this is a EMI Jax pressing and the pressing in the photos shows Nimbus.

Image is at least half the reason this album was so maligned- whoever was responsible for the release messed up in every way possible. Let's start with one of the worst album covers in history, a terrible idea poorly executed by a great photographer. The lettering. The colors. In the days when covers said everything about what was inside. This is an album by an angry band that was falling apart at the seams and the cover should have been as dirty as the title, not the cover to the Miami Vice soundtrack. Second, One Hit is an instant classic and should have been the lead single, not Harlem Shuffle. Third, if the band really wanted to get back to basics, they should have gone with basic analog production techniques and let the songs speak for themselves. Too Rude is catchy as hell and would have been a great follow up single to One Hit. The legend could be that the Stones released one of their rawest, messiest, meanest albums in Dirty Work but instead it's the Stones by way of Phil Collins.

No need to look at purchasing any remasters of this album since
this 1st Japanese release, Bob Ludwig master is DA BOMB!
