I purposely sought out this promo copy when buying a new-to-me copy because the first one I heard was this promo, and the beautiful jazz-dance feeling it evoked in me that first time still resonates a 'lil whenever I look at it now. My copy resides in my "keeping forever" record case, right behind my magnificent reissue of Lonnie Liston Smith And The Cosmic Echoes - Astral Traveling.

In general Rings around Saturn is the "intelligent" Jungletrack of ages to come. Only Source Direct matches the sheer complex of beat (Hence their track "Complexities").
Marvellous wizard of beats. Nowadays i sit on edge of a chair if I hear anything Photek...... "IS the man coming back to save DnB?"

              - there’s no doubt about it, there’s some type of strange flashing red light ahead
              - no, it’s yellow
              - I saw a yellow tinge in it too…. weird!

              - it appears to be moving a little bit this way, it’s brighter than it has been

              - we’re picking up heat reflection off the trees…
looking directly overhead one can see an opening in the trees,
plus some freshly broken branches on your.. erm underneath…
looks like something came off about 15-20 feet up

              - right from this position here, straight ahead, in between the tre-there it is again…
watch straight ahead of my flashlight there, sir, there it is
              - right from this position here, straight ahead, inbetween the tre-there it is again…
watch straight ahead of my flashlight there, sir, there it is
              - yes, I see it too

              - it just jumped about seven tenths
              - seven tenths right there in the centre?
              - uh huh
              - I’m getting very positive readings

              - it’s coming this way… it is definitely coming this way

Completely disagree with whiteawakening's comment. Both tracks are decent standalone tracks. Both might also quite be in keeping with the time they were made but I think they are playable today. Breach remix has a well constructed build up and drop. Nice 808 bass and good development.

" Rings Around Saturn " is utterly brilliant. My personal favorite from Photek. From the drums to the guitar sample, it's just an awesome bit of music I love to call Jungle/Drum & Bass.

as for me U.F.O. didn't deliver any valuable sound itself, I don't say it is bad or smth, just not my kind of taste, the tune is interesting for those kind of listeners
but I have to it that Rings Around Saturn is a very complex snare/percussion built tune with space-fx, that's what we hugely love Photek for
nice release, should have influenced intelligent dnb at it's time pretty much

Words don't do this 12" release justice, others have written aplenty already about its position is the hall of fame, being top 5 for me. The sound that surmises Photek as well as any other of his great works. One of my desert island discs for sure.
