I don't think this is as bad a press as many have claimed, my copy is a good listener, I wouldn't want to play it out in a club setting but it suffices for home listening

I bought this on a whim, after listening to YouTube sound samples. I think I Overpaid VMP on this one - didn't really enjoy the mastering or the basic-ass package. Its a miss!

Really happy to finally have a copy of this banger! Record lays flat and sounds excellent. Disappointed in the packaging to be honest. Cover was damaged and kind of flimsy stock. Cheap paper inner that required the record to have a wash in the spin clean before playing. Swapped for Mofi. I don't generally complain about the cost of VMP releases because the attention to detail on packaging has always been fantastic, imo. Dropped the ball on this one.

Good sounding copy overall. Vinyl was flat as a board and had no marks, scuffs, or defects. The album is cut like a dance record, not a typical audiophile pressing. You listen to it for the punchy bass and in-your-face vocals, not to marvel at the dynamics, sound stage, and instrument separation. While not QUITE as good sounding I would compare it to first pressings of Thriller where there may be touches of distortion in the vocals at times but you're grooving along the whole time so you don't care about it too much. Definitely worth the buy.

Can anyone comment on the sound quality of this pressing?

I have this boot and it sounds not so bad. In fact, except track A4 (which is sadly one of the best boogie tunes of the LP and suffers from distortions especially for voices...), I'm very satisfied with it, even if I assume that OG sounds better. The cover is also beautiful and looks like a first pressing. As an other discoger suggested, it is a very interesting way to own this masterpiece on vinyl if you can get it at a reasonable price - as far as there is nothing better out there.

'Ready, Ready Love' was one of the biggest songs of the London steppers (or more fashionably known 'rare groove') scene and almost impossible to get a hold of (unless you had deep pockets) at the peak of its popularity back in the late 80's. Needless to say, the song was heavily bootlegged to meet the demand by purveyors of the scene. However, unlike other 'rare groove' albums which spawned popular soul steppers, this is by no means a one track album and is much sought after by dsco heads for the more uptempo tracks. ........Yeah this is 'holy grail' stuff.

Where are the 12" versions? Seems like an oversight. Also--was this mastered from VINYL?
