I see I'm not alone here in wishing that Vow and Milk has been included. And for that matter Not My Idea, but then it hit me - the entire debut release is a masterpiece that must be owned in whole. But in any case, the sound quality of this pressing is excellent. The inner liner side 1 artwork on both disc sleeves are great as is the written story on the back of sleeve 1.
There's no getting away from the fact than an anthology / greatest hits style collection is never going to include everything everybody wants but aside from that this is a great collection. It will be enough for a certain level of Garbage fans. But for the superfans, you will likely need more. -
A so-called Garbage anthology that can't find room for "Vow" (their debut single!) and "Milk" makes me sad.

Edited 9 months agoA great compilation BUT really terrible sound quality, especially if you have a revealing high-end rig.
I love the music but listening to these two CDs on my main rig at realistic Rock 'n Roll volume levels
(no, not at 11) is somewhat painful as it sounds quite etchy (harsh) with a little too much distortion
for my liking. Compare this recording to say, Morcheeba - Part Of The Process (The Collection)
double CD compilation (released in January 2020) played on a revealing rig & you'll understand
exactly what I'm talking about. Whoever mastered these tracks needs to go back to mastering
school 101, they really dropped the ball on this release...a disappointing effort. Added distortion may
have been a thing back in the late 1960's/early 1970's but these days, with the sort of high-end
hardware that is available in the Hi-Fi market, this type of abysmal production quality is just not
acceptable in my not so humble opinion 🙄 -

No "Vow" or "Milk" is quite insane. The third album deserved a little more love too. "Androgyny" is an okay selection, but "Cup of Coffee" would have been the one to go with.

I partially agree with krudster's comment: considering how much content has been chopped off compared to its cd counterpart, the vinyl release is quite pointless.
On the other hand, it's a little sonical gem: my B&W 606 S2's woofers are joyfully bumping. -
Bit of a pointless release on vinyl with so much of the best stuff chopped off. Either go the whole hog or don't bother. Imagine if the Beatles Red & Blue compressed each one for vinyl.

£18 for a well pressed double LP is always a pleasure. Ok, a gatefold would be nice but so often that causes major warps because they come so damn tight. These two discs - while kind of grotesque of colour - are both very flat and quiet, given a deep wash at least. The mastering seems to match the individual albums recently reissued and they sound incredible therefore so does this.
I am very very pleased with this one! -
Sounds absolutely fantastic - although that's to be expected from Garbage. 'The World is Not Enough' in particular sounded the best I've ever heard it. Nice to get a small glimpse of BLM on vinyl too... hopefully a proper album release is coming down the line when it reaches it's 20th anniversary.
Obviously a shame it's truncated from the CD version, but generally I can't fault to track listing. Thrilled that No Horses is included too. -
