Sound is flat.Spotify sounds much better. Good for collection but not listening. -
Happy with the sound of this pressing overall, no issues. It looks good too. Gutted that it arrived with hit corners (along with the other 2 limited IF reissues) and Nuclear Blast never replied to my emails.

This release is very difficult for me to listen to, it makes me very sad because I really like music. Totally lacking definition, the sound is tight and without dynamics. I don't know what other editions sound like, but I don't recommend this one. Luckily I also have the CD, it sounds correct, taking into the production of the time.

The vinyl is pretty quiet for “silver”, which I find is often fairly noisy, unless pressed at a fantastic plant like RTI.
The album cover art is not super high contrast, but it’s good enough and allows you to see things you can’t see in a CD insert.
The sound is nothing special. After an A/B comparison with my 99’ Nuclear Blast CD, they’re pretty much identical, outside of the typical qualities of how vinyl distorts sound. I was surprised to see that it was being touted as remastered for vinyl, or newly remastered.
The lyric sheet and poly sleeve were good touches. If i had the chance to do this one all over again, I’d probably buy it just to have the larger format of my favorite In Flames album. -

I was surprised at how little surface noise this has. Usually gold/silver LPs are littered with it. Not this one though! Sure there was a little but nothing too bad.
I was surprised at how low in volume it was cut. I listened to it immediately after a De La Soul album and really had to crank it. -

Good reissue, some mild ground noise here and there but nothing bad, record is flat and centered. Soundwise the dynamics are ok, nothing fancy, you won't rediscover this record or something like that upon playing it, the original master was already a bit too maxed out, the album always had a gritty high end imo, guitars mostly. Having said this, I wanna make clear this does not sound as a cd transfer at all, the sound is warmer, with a rumbling low end and overall it has more mids compared to the cd. Package is quite ok, the logo is a bit blurry compared to the rest of the picture but that's it, printed lyrics sheet, vinyl comes in a poly lined inner sleeve, color variant is standard grey, not my fave but not relevant at all. This is my fave In Flames record, the perfect blend between their more folk influenced era and the later more slaughter of the soul-kinda sound. They still had that more complex, near semi technical side from the Whoracle days yet introducing the more catchy choruses and overall song structures which dominated Clayman. Get it, happy to own this, In Flames' best. -

Solid pressing that does the job. Not the most quiet one, there's quite some surface noise between tracks. Also not the most dynamic sound, although the remaster released slightly more details, but after all this simply is a too loud (as in loudness war, that was at its peak in '99), compressed production. But I can live with that and I finally needed this metal classic on vinyl anyway: Especially side A really is among the best metal the 90s produced, 5 of the most creative and exciting songs of In Flames' whole career in a row, closed by a beautiful instrumental folk ballad. Peak göteborg metal! And it's also the first vinyl edition of this album that adds the bonus track Man Made God. -

2006 repress - comes with an ad booklet with releases from that year. -

is there a version in jewel case also? Everything else looks same, but mine isn't digipak. -

Like sounds like an enhanced CD. Nothing special about it really. I received it as a gift, so I'm happy. I'd definitely source the original pressing over this copy. Don't bother.
