David Bowie – Hunky Dory

Proof that dynaflex can sound amazing. This pressing sounds so good and natural. One of my fave sounding records in my collection

I have one very similar. The description would be (changes in Capitals) :
No 'Mainman' on labels or on sleeve. Unlaminted sleeve has GEM logo on rear. Front cover photo has strong greenish hue.
'Dynaflex' pressing. Has "Made in CANADA" on label, but also "Printed in England" on cover.
Unlaminated sleeve has GEM logo on rear. Front cover photo has strong greenish hue. Inner lyric sheet CREDITS CHRYSALIS/TITANIC

Guess rushing in albums from whatever they had for UK market given Ziggy's success

Buyers beware. A lot of people are listing second pressing for sale under this category, which is reserved for the first pressing without the GEMS logo on the back of the jacket.

I have an early version UK 1971 SF 8244 (LSP 4623) laminated APRS 5947-2E stamped on side one but with A2AB etched on the run out. Side 2 etched only with APRS 5947-3E AIV. Gen logo is on the back outer sleeve and mainman is credited. I cannot find this version on Discogs anywhere. Does anyone have any thoughts on its rarity?

My copy is a little noisy, but man oh man does Bowie ever come through nice. Really clear and defined vocals, super fun listen.

Why do the UK Laminated sleeve pressings of this album go for so much?

Anyone have any idea which year this particular press was released? TIA.

Record is beautifully done. The mix is a perfect. One of Bowie’s best, it stands alone

Great album and a very enjoyable pressing, nice and punchy, it really fills the room. The vinyl is flat and quiet, practically no surface noise whatsoever, very little sibilance. Recommended.
