Bruce Springsteen – Western Stars

Imo this is not an european press. "Sony music" doesnt appears anywhere, and despite distribuited by Springsteen UK website, its a worldwide press if its so hard to say thats an american first press. Forsure not european press. Im in Italy and my copy doesnt have a sticker barcode but a normal one pressed on the bottom left corner of back sleeve.

The last great album from Bruce and it is a beauty. Fabulous songwriting wonderful string arrangements a truly American sound. Moonlight Motel is a classic the lyrics are so emotional at times It has brought me to tears

This is his best album since Darkness on the Edge of Town. That's how highly I regard this album. Moonlight Motel is a instant classic. Not a bad song on this masterpiece

Beautiful album but on my copy side 2 and side 4 are off-centered. Especially on side 2 the wobbling is very clear to hear. Side 1 and 3 are fine.

In my opinion it is five out of five stars.

Jun19. I usually love Bruce's slower, solo efforts, but this one did not do it for me first time through. Not as folky as other releases. More operatic with strings and overly produced and clean. More of a Californian, Eagles vibe. A couple of songs marked for further listening. 2/5

Hey, just FYI, as of late September 2020, Barnes & Noble is still selling this record for $29.99. I don't know why you would pay over $100 dollars for it.

If anyone is selling this album it feels like a pretty shitty thing to do. All of us who bought this from Springsteen's website got a full refund and then sent a poster as a sorry because the album was delivered a few days late. One of the nicest things I have ever seen an artist do for his fans. So those making money on this truly are shitty people.

This a typical modern day commercial recording. It is not, nor has it ever claimed to be, an audiophile recording, nor can it compare with a good original sixties or seventies analogue production. The dynamics can at times be a little compressed which on more complex or layered tracks does introduce some muddling of the mix. The orchestral parts suffer from a lack of ambience. The instrument is well captured but the environment it is performing in is absent. I guess it is all a matter of personal taste and perhaps experience, but if you have listened to a decent audiophile pressing this production will disappoint. Make no mistake though this is a good album, and I am no fanatic of Bruce, the cinematic landscapes he evokes are impressive and the whole package is very good. If you mainly listen to current commercial albums, sonically this will not disappoint but to repeat, it is no audiophile treat.
