For what it's worth I owned original copies of both Food & Liquor and The Cool. When the represses came out (this one and the clear pressing of the Cool) I A/B tested them (Shure V15 IV cartridge) and found this purple comparable to the OG, which I then sold. Kept the OG of The Cool since that was superior. Would recommend this pressing, sounds great to my ears. -
Shiny jacket is nice, records look nice and sound great. This is just not my vibe. -
Top notch press of a top notch album, Lupe’s most famous and accessible work is tight and regardless of what others may say, justifiably and expensive record to own. This one has excellent sound quality and mastering and is no doubt one of my most prized hip hop records. Worth $150-200 if you can find a M/ NM copy -
Edited one year agoThe overall presentation (jacket, inserts, vinyl color) is fantastic as per usual with VMP. The sound quality is good. It’s a shame the top singles (“Kick, Push” and “Daydreamin’”) are both on the inner groove. Would have loved to hear “Daydreamin’” with a little more room to breathe. It gets a bit compressed here.

Yeah this sounds great. Record is flat and quiet, can’t imagine there’s a better sounding/looking version out there. -
gorgeous, VMP did a killer job on this album, every last detail, beautiful jacket, record and it sounds perfect. -
