Profile:

Annual Canadian music awards ceremony managed and operated by Canadian Academy Of Recording Arts And Sciences since 1975. Started by Canada's weekly music industry journal RPM in 1964 as an annual readers' poll called The RPM Awards. In 1970 RPM started the Gold Leaf Awards ceremony and in 1971 rechristened the award as The Juno Award in honour of the first president of the CRTC, Pierre Juneau. In addition to the awards, the ceremony also includes yearly inductions into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame.
