They were known for presenting new bands and old, some soon to be famous bands made early appearances at Dingwalls, including R.E.M..
The venue is also well known for once regularly hosting the influential "Talkin' Loud And Sayin' Somethin' " Sunday afternoon jazz dance event, with DJs Patrick Forge.

The venue was sold in 2020 to Vince Power, previously MD of the Mean Fiddler Group and London club scene entrepreneur and was relaunched as Powerhaus.
