Idea Recording (also known as Idea Studio) were actually a group of studios inside CGD facilities in Milan, and they were formerly known - as from the date of their establishment in 1970 - as "Milano Recording".

The names of the single rooms were:
Idea "V" (the "V" standing for "Variable", due to its variable acoustic features), Idea "D" ("D" = "Double"), Idea "Mix", Idea "Transfer", Idea "Copy Room"

At CGD / Idea Recording worked people such as Gianni Daldello.

    Vinyl-wise, IMHO quality has never been their thing, many of their 12'' 33⅓ RPM records have a very compressed dynamics and an excessively high volume, resulting in sibilants and inner groove distortions; when they switched to digital masters during the late 80s, the sound in general became more thinner, while maintaining all the issues above. Probably their target market was discos, radio stations (most of their 7''/12'' mixes were great, apart from occasional sibilances) and owners of mediocre or underpowered systems, where reproduction quality wasn't the main thing.
