Founded in 2001 by Konrad von Löhneysen as Ministry of Sound Recordings with the participation of Ministry of Sound as the German sub-label of the British main label.
Since 2007, von Löhneysen is the sole owner.
The label changed its name in September 2010 to Embassy of Music.

As of February 2010, CDs are distributed by Warner Music in the -Switzerland-Austria region.
